Hi everyone,

Welcome back to the new year. I hope 2018 has started with a bang for you and that everyone had a relaxing and restorative break over the Christmas holidays. It went far too quickly for my liking, but we had a lovely and relaxing break. We mostly mooched around home, entertaining friends and family over the course of the holidays, with a few mini breaks down the south coast and up to Sydney overnight. Just so great to have some downtime in the sun and at home, restoring and relaxing after a busy year.

We were very proud parents of our eldest Charlie who was made school captain

Christmas Eve was the family tradition of the Polar Express and reading ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas in bed

Christmas Day delights, the girls loving their new dolls

Christmas Day chaos, there always seems to be so much more wrapping paper than anything else

The Christmas dessert buffet is always the main attraction – please sir, can I have some more?

Tom bought me this gorgeous ice bucket I’ve had my eye on for a while, which has been put to good use this summer

My diet and lifestyle has changed dramatically over the past few years as I’ve been on a quest to improve my health and well being, and to fix some persistent health issues that were causing me long term chronic problems. I was thrilled to get this cold press juicer which I’ve used every day since

We had 14 for Christmas dinner and set up a makeshift table with spare chairs for everyone to sit around. Loved using the beautiful hydrangeas from the garden for the spread, which have since been burnt to a crisp in the hot weather

Had a great night in Sydney watching the fireworks on NYE and took the kids to see The Wizard of Oz at the theatre

Finally got the pergola on the deck finished and painted time for Christmas. It’s a great asset and so glad we did it finally!

Now getting the cushions on the outdoor sofa recovered, to match all the others I had made

We’ve since had the stairs to the deck rebuilt as these weren’t well done in the beginning and were warped and cracking badly. Much improved now.

The columns at the front of the house were boxed in and painted, something I’ve been wanting to do for years. Very pleased with the way it turned out.

We also finally ripped up the old brown carpet up the stairs and throughout the upstairs rooms and replaced with new carpet. As the stairs are only MDF we chose to re-carpet with the runner rather than leave them exposed. The curved stairs also posed a major challenge and limited our options.

A quick mini break down to Jervis Bay – one of the most beautiful beaches you could imagine.

Stunning beaches and crystal clear water on Jervis Bay and practically nobody there but us

Our youngest Amelia started school this year and is loving it so much she wishes she could be a boarder!

Now with kids back to school, everyone back at work and the year already progressing at break neck speed, it’s time to get those homes decorated and projects finished. We have been getting things done around the house over the holidays and slowly ticking off that never-ending to-do list. It’s very satisfying to finally finish a project, but seems as though you never really finish working on a house as there’s always something to fix, change, update or maintain. We are also starting our next work renovation project soon, having sold the Bowral cottage before Christmas.
We all need inspiration and a little nudge along the way, so….here’s a few offerings to help you with your decorating projects.

Interior Design consultations for 2018

My books are open again for appointments, so if you are interested in a consultation or decorating advice, please visit the DESIGN SERVICES page on my website or email me for more information. I have a range of design services available for all budgets and requirements and take appointments at home during the week, and can also visit on-site in the Highlands.

I will be holding more decorating and design workshops this year, with the first couple planned for May here at our home in Bowral, in the Southern Highlands. Please email me asap for more information on course details and to secure your place.

Grab a girlfriend or come solo and enjoy a day talking about decorating, interior design and styling with me and a group of likeminded girls, and the chance to share and workshop your decorating project. Then take the chance for a weekend away and stay on in the Highlands for a relaxing weekend of shopping, dining, relaxation and downtime enjoying the unique autumnal experience in the Highlands. Details to follow but the two dates are set as follows –

Friday 4th May, 2018 and Friday 18th May, 2018

10.00am – 3.00pm including lunch and refreshments

Limited to 10 spaces

Cost $550

Looking forward to a productive and proactive year, and sharing the journey with you including all our projects at home and beyond. We are doing a few upgrades here in the coming weeks and will share the progress with you, along with our next big reno job soon to start.

Stay in touch!
